I was just wondering do any of you people like Silverchair? I think they are one of my favourite bands at the moment, my favourite album is probably "neon ballroom" or frogstomp. What do you think?
one of my favourite songs is called undecided.
I'm surprised noboody else has responded to this post. It's been up for a while now... Frogstomp is a fantastic record! Mature songwriting and energetic presentation. Hard to believe they were only fifteen years old when they recorded it! Freakshow was good but had some very weak points I have to say... The albums after that were okay but their writing sort of was stunted as was Daniel John's guitar playing. I wish they had released a live album or an unplugged set though. They did record both, for radio broadcasts in the states. If anybody out there has good quality bootlegs of these, get in touch with me.
They're also reforming. For another album at least, I'm not sure about tours. I think they'll be better the next time around, they've all been off doing other projects and getting more experience under their belt. I could probably find a link with some actual information....
Yeah, I agree with the point about freak show, however I really like the song Cemetry, but some of the album isn't that great, like the song called: close the door, or something. I want to get Diarama, I think it sounds interesting, and yeah I'd really like to hear some acoustic stuff or live stuff, I'd be interested to know what they're like live. I think cemetry
sorry about that last post, it was a bit messed up.
i don't like silver chairs. i prefer ones with padding!
Harp. Words cannot do justice to the stupidity of that post. Cheers for wasting everybody's time with that.
the pleasure was all mine i assure you
There is a band i haven't heard much of in a while. I believe frogstomp and freakshow were my favorite. I loved rocking some of their stuff on guitar as well too. Yeah if anyone does has good copies of those radio performances let me know. I believe i had one of them on tape but don't know what happened to it.
I have a double live album of theirs on my PC, I thought it was an official released album but may be it is just a bott leg, I do not recommend on speculating where I obtained said album, at least not publically. Diorama was awful, apart from the last song, which is one of my very favorite Silverchair track. But for some reason they sound a bit more like Queen now than like Silverchairs of old and I find that development not necessarily advantageous. And there are so many other good Aussie bands now, Wolfmother, Jet, the Vines (Factory is just one of the most classic awesome rock songs of the last 20 years). Tomorrow was one of my current band's first covers, always a fun song, Freak is definitely a classic as well. I can't say they in any way revolutionized the rock world but it's good to have had them out there for that grunge/rock play list of 90s flashbacks.
Yeah nothing exxactly revolutionary but some dan good Grunge in their HayDays lol. I gotta work a silverchair cover into my bands cover set. Have a recording of your band covering Tommorrow? Can you hook me up with a copy of that double live album?
